10k @ HM Effort w/ Hard Finish

Once this race went virtual I decided to treat it as a half marathon simulation, hence the long warmup before doing any work at pace. The wind was brutal on the first half so I just tried to stay relaxed. I managed to ratchet things down on the way back and ran a big negative split (roughly 17:25 and 16:40). 

All in all, this was a solid effort given the less than ideal conditions. My face hurts a little, but the overall experience pales in comparison to New Year’s Day in RI a few years back.
