Let’s do it again! We’ll do it live!

Where the hell is this speed coming from? This was suppose to be a medium effort baseline ride to see how much fitness I’ve lost since surgery. I’ve barely ridden my bike in 2.5 months and had surgery in December that left me bed ridden for more than 6 weeks. This wasn’t even an all out ride. I had to slow for hikers  and every corner in anticipation of traffic. Maybe last years incredible 230+ straight days of working out has finally been absorbed. I’m flat out confused on my performance. These “hard” efforts aren’t even hard, my legs were never burning and my HR was never red lined. Maybe the doc disconnected my pain receptors .....actually I’m pretty sure he did on one tendon

Fairfax life turned up to 11! So thankful for my lifestyle 

I have a friend that’s no longer with us. His name was Krazy J and he was a crazy mountain biker. I wish I could have a ride and post ride beer with him right now in Fairfax.  He left such an imprint on my life for someone that lives for the moment and appreciated every second he had on earth. Krazy J got us kicked out of every bar in college before we even entered the building. His laughter and everyday  exuberance, the security guards didn't understand, so they tossed us out upon entry. Little does Jeffrey know, but he would have been an amazing gift to the Fairfax mountain biking community. A little part of Jeffrey's zest for riding and life lives in me now and how lucky I am to have held on for the ride. Cheers Krazy J!
