Moments after deciding not to seek shelter in a construction site portajohn, I hit the only real pothole on Brand Rd.  I was surprised and fortunate enough to hang onto the bars, and also not destroy the wheel. I did the walk of shame for a little bit, looking for a covered spot and secretly hoping someone would offer a ride. Getting the spare tubular mounted actually went off without major difficulty. I was glad to have the proper valve extension pre-installed on the spare. There's a first time for everything! Happy to have completed the route as-planned.
