Wow, what a journey. I last raced 27 months ago, Feb 2019. At the time I was running well but, as it turned out, too much and too obsessively.  I gave myself a chronic Achilles issue that just wouldn't go away and I didn't run for 7 months. I started to make some progress at the end of 2019, the issue was still there but manageable. I then got Covid in January 2020 that developed into Long Covid and I had the weirdest year of my life. I couldn't run and, at the peak of my illness, I was confined to the house and bed. Thanks to lots of supportive people, too many to list, I started to come out of my chronic fatigue in October 2020 and did my first 1km jog in November. It has been an up and down process but today I was able to feel like a runner again! I have learnt a lot of lessons and hopefully this will allow me to have a more healthy relationship with running going forward and appreciate this fabulous sport.
