Shocking sleep last night, you can see I was late getting out, and again I nearly didn’t. And again I’m so glad I did. The coastal haar eased by Pitscottie and blue skies by Craigrothie. A gentle easterly pushed me along and I had fun on the Dryside Road. Soon was up at Glendevon, always a nice drag, the turn I was looking for was a bit further than I thought though. And finally left for the watery bits and spinny bits 👍. Felt like I was cruising along so gave the pedals a bit of a push to the top reservoir. Could have had my camera out repeatedly it was picture perfect up there today.

Then climb, climb, and climb some more for the windy turbines. I think wind farms on blue sky days are my happy place 😄.

I was optimistically looking for the Blackford path for the return. Prepared for some hike a bike, but there was more hike than bike for quite some time 😜. The gradient on the initial bit meant I was pressing through it though, it wasn’t one to return. Nice enough, no very nice indeed, it just took a long time. And with my late start…

Finally down and across the A9 I had a tile to get across to the Braco road. Initially good enough, a gate was negotiated, tarmac across, but then a locked gate that was deer height 😬. Found an alternative after a few mins though.

Auchterader and I needed something, it’s a long time since I’ve done a Co-op raid and sat outside with it. Good times. The other planned gravel sections were mentally switched out, but I didn’t want to roll round Bridge of Earn again, so dragon 👍.

The breeze was a pain in the arse immediately leaving Auchterader, had it been this strong all day? I hadn’t thought so. A litre of water sat heavy in my stomach for a bit, guzzled in a bid to get moving again.

Dunning and the dragon. Seen a few folk go up it recently, it was my turn to refresh my memory. Aye. Dragon-y. Onwards up and over and Glenfarg, I was avoiding the A91. I knew I was avoiding the A91. These thoughts and some more glances at the watch and I gave in, I’d need to get my head down on the A91 not to make my late home not become ridiculous. I nearly ended up in the oats factory as I wanted to get off and towards Stratheden - could have done with a porridge, I live on the stuff at the moment. Standard home from there. 👍
