Legs and lungs just never cooperated. Some combination of overtraining, humidity, and stomach issues resulted in a slow start and a terrible finish.  Considered dropping at Mink Hollow when I started to get dizzy on the descent of Sugarloaf, but decided to sit and regroup. Managed to death march to the finish for a personal worst in my favorite race. I'll be back next year to get it right.
