maybe this one is far enough away that he only gets to it in a week or two after there's no more segments within his radius

435W for 4:18 on the Wahoo (435W for 4:30 hand time, but the segment is shorter than the road), but I need all the time i can get so taking the phone time. kind of paced it well i think in that i was afraid i didn't start out fast enough only to turn the corner and go from one wall to an even steeper wall and know that i probably managed the effort OK. one problem was that I didn't choose my gears well - surprising for an effort of this length my lungs didn't really feel stressed but i was having a lot of trouble putting out more power (which has been a frequent complaint) - i think if i was in my 33-33 instead of the 33-28 (30?) it would have been better. however, my shifters went dead sometime just before or just after the finish (of fucking course you get no warning about the battery life of the 2032s in your shifters, only about the derailleurs themselves, grrr), so maybe i would have had trouble shifting back from the 33-33 if i did make that choice.

overall, happy with the effort. 435W for 4:30 is a lot more power than i expected, my calculations suggested i would need ~415W to beat Brad and didn't really think that would be doable but didn't look down at the computer once (on this climb youre more focused on staying upright). power matters less on a vertical kilometre like this though, this ride was mostly about me saying "hey look, i was really light once" pre vacation
