Benedikt decided he was sick of my constant moaning about being in good shape but not having good wind and wanted to put a stop to my 'potential OLH PR' talk so bad that he was willing to give me the perfect 10 minute leadout so I wouldn't have any excuses. in my dream world where i have a massive tailwind and a protective Bünz Bros Bubble™ dragging me all the way to the top there's probably more time to shave off, but as it stands 15:26 reflects my fitness pretty well so i can't really complain.

Benedikt brought the wrong battery for his power meter so was pacing it exclusively off of his live segment which ended up working out pretty well, as any error in execution was on my part. I may have held like 1-2% back in the 5 minutes i was solo to avoid overcooking things too much and wasting Benedikt's beautiful leadout, but ultimately that's probably what I needed to do anyway.  hand time I was around 355W @ 15:30, which is kind of a little low, I would have expected 360-365W, but my experiments with the Favero last week lead me to believe that its possible this power meter reads maybe ~1% low anyway, so i think it shakes out OK. 

looking to make this ride into a better workout Benedikt and I decided to TTT 84W - oh man does it make a big difference compared to doing it solo. got almost a minute better than my KOM, though was only a few watts better - i think i was 321W solo last time and 324W today? but big draft potential, a motivated group can go sub 20 i'm pretty sure.

tried to lead out Benedikt on some random climb in Foothill but I think we were pretty cooked at that point. whatever, after you PR OLH you're playing with house money for the rest of the ride anyway. time for 2 weeks of vacation and hopefully i won't get too fat or lose too much fitness and be hunting for PRs again by the time September rolls around (barring no smoke, which is pretty unlikely but a boy can dream).
