Sand hill climb with a nice view of the Ritter Range from the summit. Well, not the actual summit, there's a giant gondola building and crowds there, but a point just off to the south offers an unobstructed view. Higher peaks to the south are obscured by Bloody Mountain and Mammoth Crest, though Red Slate Mountain, Mount Gabb, and Silver Peak poke through. Pretty easy and accessible from town, but those seeking a challenging or interesting climb, impressive scenery, or even the vaguest sense of wilderness should look elsewhere. Nevertheless, this peak is on the Vagmarken Sierra Crest List and it's been fun to climb some of those easier ones from that list near Mammoth. I'd imagine it would have been removed from the list had the Vagmarken not disbanded before the ski area incorporated and began construction.
