An enjoyable Sunday afternoon mostly on new roads. First century for Seth, and my first one with another rider, definitely upped the fun factor.

The route worked out well, only hiccups were not finding anywhere in Atchison open on a Sunday to get some eats and water, then getting held up for 15 min by a parade of vintage trucks and tractors in Wathena. We went by Amelia Earhart's house in Atchison, threw in some extraneous brick roads for amusement in Atchison and Troy, rolled down the old Pony Express trail out of Troy, and enjoyed some pizza and beer at Il Lazzarone in St Joe. DeKalb Rd/Hwy JJ south of St Joe was particularly pleasant, very pretty hilltop vistas. The steep rollers into Weston were a fun way to finish it off, and I had enough pop left in my legs to collect a KOM on the last segment into town. Really good ride on a really nice day in late summer.

Also: went over 10k mi on the blue bike, I guess it's definitely no longer my new bike. And a new weekly PR for elevation gain, I think.
