Mount Kaweah Day 1: Approach

We climbed Electra Peak via the northwest bowl / north ridge route. There was some routefinding down low to avoid some of the more difficult terrain in the Lyell Fork, but above large Lake 10999 it was just a talus climb all the way up to the fun, short north ridge, nothing very difficult. The summit of this peak has a great view of the west side of the Ritter Range and Central Sierra. The smoke was making its way into the valley and a little farther north today, but it was still nice and clear in the mountains.

This is the least frequently climbed of the 62 SPS peaks I've climbed so far, with 67 ascents on peakbagger.com, tied with Red Kaweah and Mount Bolton Brown. Despite its unimpressive stature, it boasts an impressive view to the south and a brief section of enjoyable climbing.
