Lovely event, enjoyed it (well, last 10k was hard but you expect that).
I started out working harder than I had planned so tried to reign it back a bit on the climbs. I descended aggressively in parts to pass people from miles 5 to 10 and then slowly caught and passed people up to the 22 mile mark.I also pressed on a little on the first flat/downhill road section and dropped people :-)
*Very* steep hill about 1.5km in which nearly everyone walked, topped with a single file stile that caused a queue which cost me about a minute and those behind much more.
Pretty much 98% of the rest was runnable with just a few steep hills late on that warranted walking.
Mud existed in parts but wasn't a problem.
This was my sister's comeback run after 2 years out because of injury. She predicted 5.5-6 hours and managed 4:34:55
