This is unofficially a new FKT for this trio of Peaks. 2:47:39. J. Ziesmer established this route last year, and put up a time of 3:05. 

I had my eye on it for awhile and thought this route, although different from his, could go faster. In his description the only defining points were the start/finish at Buckskin Cliff Shadows, and the summits of the 3 peaks. The route is open. 

We opted for a trail run approach all the way back to Gottlieb to start, and then work the ridge hitting Woody Peak, and Summerlin Peak on the way back. I would have preferred the full SE Summerlin Ridge descent but Ziesmer had used what looked to be a more direct line and I didn’t want to lose time there. That descent happened to be the worst section of the adventure, steep, loose, sharp limestone talus and scree. Oh, and lots of cactus and yucca between the knife edge rock. Lovely terrain really. Ray was muttering expletives behind me, lol. But, we pushed hard and shaved some time off of his FKT. Boom. 

Good work Ray. 👊🏼 oh, and we saw some bighorn sheep on the way down…🤙🏽
