I didn't take too many photos from this race because it was COLD and my fingers weren't working, but the Occoneechee Mountain Challenge was a great race today! HUGE CONGRATS to all the Fleet Feet trail run program participants who raced today! (And I LOVED seeing so many summer and fall trail program alums there too! 😍😍😍) And thank you Martin and Hillsborough run club for a great race!

Occoneechee was an extra challenge this year with starting temps at 18°F. (My weather app showed "Real feel: 18°F" when I checked it this morning and I might have snarkily grumbled, "Google, do you really expect me to know what 18°F feels like?!" 😆) A decently hard race pace effort meant I kept most of the cold at bay during the race, but apparently when I crossed the finish line I had icicles in my hair! 🥶

I had fun chasing after Blaine, Josh, Jordan and Kevin and Ivy, Tracey, and Susan and Katie -- you all crushed it today! And Molly urged me on to the finish as we came around the historic Occoneechee Speedway to the finish! 💪

It was so good to see Nicole and Elly and Cheryl out there today running and Angela  and Nora and Taylor and and Tessa and Randy and Mimi out there volunteering! (Thanks Randy and Angela for the pics of me!) 

I'm sure I missed tagging lots of folks who were there racing and volunteering, but it just goes to show what a great running community we have here and I am always grateful for it ❤️
