An early wake up at 5:45 for scrambled eggs on pitta bread. Last minute nerves were soon settled and all my kit, food and hydration was checked to be carried from start to finish. The run started off well with Englishcombe, Southdown and Newton St. Loe trig points ticked off with relative easy. The uphill haul up to Penn Hill was the first point where I had a wobble but I quickly composed myself on the continued trek up to Kelston Round Hill. After Kelston I felt good and pushed on a little bit up to Hanging Hill and the decent afterwards, which took it out of my quads a bit. Up to Solsbury hill was tough and doubts started to creep in before a very boggy slog up and down Bannerdown. I regrouped on the flat before heading up the hill to the University of Bath which was the toughest part and it took alot of mental strength to keep pushing up the hill. The final trig point at Bathampton Down on the golf course was waiting at the top and afterwards I opened up the legs to push on the pace leading to a return to the start (Widcombe access point) in a time of 3:14:41!!!
