Woke up with a scratchy throat - oh noes - and generally didn't feel like the century ride I'd got planned. Caffeine and a double helping of porridge I'd pulled myself round and headed out. Much warmer than it looked - and that it's been the last week, but spots of rain and a strong southerly wind.

21miles - a roundabout route to Lundin Links, up past Grange, over Carnbee, a road I'd never been on to Arncroach then the busier stuff from there. Had the sunny (yellow) tints in the cycling specs, but the early gloom was very much apparent.

The main ride headed off at 9 with a pretty decent size group heading round the back of Largo Law. The helping breeze albeit not rushing we made quick progress, St Andrews, Strathkinness, Pitscottie.

Sun and then rain made an appearance out towards Newburgh, then turning back to face the wind it was very thankful to be riding part of a group.

Found myself at the front going in to Kingskettle - I find it really hard to judge the pace, need to improve that - ended up not really with anyone going up Kettlehill so pushed on to the top junction - not ridden up that way before - and regrouped there.

Cults was fast with the helping push, a close moment with a tractor - no-one's fault, just tractors are big, and the road was small - and quickly we were back at the hall.

L&LCC put on a fantastic spread and the place was full of cyclists recovering, erm catching up :) Particular shout to whoever made the scones - superb.

Tough to pull myself away from all the cake, but mindful that rain was forecast for the afternoon I set out. Also tough to get the legs spinning again - strange a rest can make you feel more tired.

Anyway, home and home. Really good event and looked to be really well supported. Top stuff, now where's the Lemsip :)
