After 7 hard crits in the quad cities over the long wknd, I was anticipating tired legs, but a good night's sleep had me feeling resurrected...with a strong head wind the first half, tail wind return, opted for the biggest gear i have...it didn't feel problematically over geared on the way out into the wind...heart rate was only 128 average the first half, possibly due to slower cadence, but also reflective of controlled effort, and maybe also some residual fatigue...think it was mostly due to controlled effort...tried to bring it back harder with the wind, but still heart rate only 137 average despite the two bigger climbs on the way back...liked the feel of the 63/14 and pleased with the ride given the less than ideal conditions (big wind, chilly) and what in hindsight was a less than full effort
