Afternoon Trail Run

That hurt.  I skipped the Big T Trail run last Saturday with an aggravated hamstring and a sore knee, both of which felt fine on my run yesterday.  So, given I've had a lot of days off this past week, I thought I'd seize the moment and try to take back a CR or two from Macklin Chaffee, who (with apparent ease) stole a bundle from me while visiting town last week.  I didn't even come close to the shorter of the two CRs I was after today (WG Rd to Powerline-- very stout, and will take some doing-- perhaps some progressively fast VO2Max intervals up it in the near future), but I did get the longer one (WG Rd to Steeper/Easier Fork).  Of course, Macklin set his time in the course of a full tempo up Atalaya, starting downtown, and I just barely beat him going pretty much all out for nine minutes.  I'll take it, though-- he's a sub-4:00 miler and I'm nothing of the sort.  Fun times.
