Lincoln City to Newport. STOOOOOKED!! What a day! Got an early and energized start, amazing views all day, great temp, body felt and functioned well, got to pre-celebrate at mile 20 when I popped into visit with the family in Beverly Beach I’m staying with tonight, then cruised the remaining 8 miles with an awesome tailwind to reach my destination at Yaquina State Park. After finishing, I walked a mile back to Nye Beach, jumped in the water, cleaned up, and met my host (friend of a friend) Chris for a pint at an Irish Pub in Newport. 

Met so many great people today, it takes too much to retell it all. But highlights were the Aquaman lookalike, Jory, near Otter Rock whose schoolie RV was rad, the nice walker Jane who had lived all over the US including Bham, the family in Newport who stopped me on my way through downtown to ask my story, and of course, my amazing hosts for tonight and tomorrow night who helped with laundry, a space to sleep, a ride back from Newport to Beverly Beach, time playing with their cool kids and chatting with them, and an amazing dinner. 

On top of all that… I am incredibly stoked and proud of my effort pushing a heavy stroller for 28.1 miles at a sub-10:00/mi pace. Sure, my elapsed time averages a slower pace, due to the times I stopped for food or bathroom or conversation, but every minute running was a better effort with that much weight than the last two days, AND I ran further! What a freaking amazing day and an amazing gift of God to enjoy it all!
