The WWW weather gods certainly are with us at the moment as the heatwave abated to give us a pleasant 21`C and dusty, dry trails as we met at Ercall Wood tonight with 19 on the main ride, 9 on the E/C ride, 4 on the A ride and 4 ewes, who came to join us for a change.
 
I was prepared for brambles tonight by wearing longer knee pads and pulling my socks up, but I could have done without fingerless gloves! Local rider Simon Shanklin led us tonight at a pace that made you wonder if he had a secret motor, but everyone kept up and we covered 10 miles with just over 1700 feet of climb. It was refreshing to be taken on trails that were new to some of us and had folk guessing where they were. John C nearly disappeared into the wilderness, but, thankfully, Sally managed to catch him and bring him back to the car park.
