Felt alright the first few miles and I felt I was keeping up a good pace, but saw some splits in the upper 5:20s and I knew this wasn’t gonna be as fast as last time. Splits - 5:(18, 17, 27, 20, 24, 30, 29, 28, 16, 05). Total 53:34, 5:21.4 avg. The effort was there, kept em all 5:30 or faster, still pretty satisfied. The worst part: a quarter mile from the finish, some guys were using leaf blowers on the esplanade and blowing up a ton of dust which I had to sprint through and hold my breath and squint/close my eyes for what felt like forever, but was probably only like 5 seconds. Still, super annoying. Though it was really nice how empty the esplanade and Springwater are on a Tuesday morning. And perfect weather. And going to see the men’s 1500m final tonight!
