Was so frustrated that the wahoo froze on my effort Thursday, that I had to go back and get some redemption. After pumping up my tires to 19 Lbs ( I’ve been riding my MTB too much) I set off on last Thursday’s course. Realizing my mistake only after hitting pavement 4ish miles out, I chugged along till the climbing on Mt road was done. Hand pumped the tires till firm and kept trucking. I was feeling a little out of sorts but that turned around a bit once I got in the woods. Did great on the initial tough climbs but lost my line when I got to the second big hill. Ended up hiking it to the top of that one and rode the rest of the day (bummed because I rode that hill clean last time). Put a little gumption into the Round pond DH, threading the needle through the ledge sections. Made decent time on it and there is more to gain there. As I rolled into the Round Pond Hill Climb to Deerfield I wasn’t feeling all that great, but put in an effort anyhow. At one point I was 30 seconds ahead of my PR and through all the tech, but then I started falling apart. Luckily I was able to roll through 20 seconds faster than my PR. I had my doubts about putting an effort in on the big hill up into Nottingham square, but with some downhills before getting there I had some good recovery time. I pushed hard. Not sure if it was better than last Thursday, but cut about 1:07 of my existing PR. If the wahoo froze again this time I surely would have spiked it off the rock at the top of the climb. Instead I spiked myself off the rock, fully worked I had to sit and take a rest (prior snacks made an appearance).
After I settled a bit I got back on the bike and did the fun winding downhill heading me back towards Epping. Successful Ride!!
Still need new batteries for the cadence and heart rate. That data woulda been helpful to see after the fact
