Nice, flat and fast route with a strong headwind on the way out and super fast tailwind on the way back. The first 20min were full on with attacks going off constantly. It was great fun jumping on and off wheels again. Eventually a small group got away that would become the winning move. After a while I tried to help out the Bottechia boys at the front to try and bring it back in the headwind section but when the gap went from 90s to 2min I decided 'fuck that'🤪 and went back to chill in the pack. Fast forward to the final few km, I was behind a rider who lost the wheel through a roundabout and when he dragged me pack to the front I attacked over the top of them. Annoyingly I heard wheels on me immediately so I eased up. Still at the front, Brian got on my wheel and politely yelled🙈 at me to lead him out into the final turn. I was happy to and pulled hard into the last roundabout only for us to realise.... It wasn't the final roundabout. Trying not to laugh at the fuck up I just kept going, legs screaming at me now, and kept the pace high enough to stop attacks until the actual final roundabout. Pulled off at the turn and Brian won the bunch sprint. Happy days 🎉🎉
