Meh... My performance in the race was fine... forgot my stupid inhaler, so the first mile was a little rough. I didn't get a lot of running in, for a myriad of reasons (asthma, residual Covid bullshit), but mostly because half of this race was a quasi-trail race, along an old rutted out trail road. 
Also, the course was terrible (rutted road included)! They had a 5k and a 10k, and the 10k was a second loop of the 5k... So, in a tight area, the front runners had to return back, swimming 'upstream' through slower folks (me!). THEN, the 10k fast people had to fight their way through the slow 5k people in the back (me!), the faster 5k people who are now in the front... I saw one guy almost wipeout on a patch of slippery clay, and he could have broken something, if he'd fallen (i.e. his nose, his arm, etc). 
There was no swag to speak of, other than a pretty cool medal, and a pretty scratchy tee shirt. There looked to be breakfast, but all I saw was some cold toast, burnt scrambled eggs, and fatty curls of bacon edges. I guess if I was faster, there would have been something left for me, and the remaining 10k runners who finished after me. 
On the plus side, parking was easy with lots of volunteers doin' it Disney Style, to keep us all parking well, in a grass lot steps away from packet pickup and the start line. 
I don't foresee doing this race again in the future.
