It was my first time in Colorado at altitude. Today is my biggest & best result ever. Especially proud of this considering how difficult racing at altitude is. 

Full Race Report 
The first 60 miles (after neutral) I was in & out of the lead group because there was some challenging sections. At about mile 60 I had to go alone after it was obvious my dad was suffering because of the altitude. I caught a group but ended up riding away because I just had better & steady power. At this point I was already high at altitude. However my body wasn't suffering. I didn't have an elevated heart rate, no lightheaded or headaches. I was drinking plenty of water and gels every 30 minute. I was really in a grove until I hit 10k altitude at the Spanish Peaks and I noticed a drop off in power and it really hurt! After the descent I got caught and for the next 75 miles I rolled with my new friend Tim.  Later in the ride I was hurting from all the efforts and at the finish line I didn't have it in me to contest for the sprint for 3rd (at the time we were not aware of the dnf on course). Overall, I'm stoked  with this result. Shocked how well my body was taking on the challenge of altitude. Didn't really know how it was going to handle it until I was on the bike but I just felt great today. I knew my form was ready just glad the altitude didn't have such a negative effect on me. Only thing I will do different next time is just come the day before so I don't have to do the race on my third day (which is the when the altitude affects you the most!)
