Club duathlon, run #2. Overall P1 in Maxi - not due to the run, of course.

It was a fairly big race with more than 100 participants. First riders started at 6:30 but my starting slot was at 8:09 (6th from the end) and the sun was already up high and baking me through the black skinsuit. I am not used to this many turns and roundabouts on a time trial route. Power went up and down and my aero position discipline was less than perfect. I pushed a bit too much in the beginning, then I had a small crisis in the 3rd quarter - as always. I recovered and had a good finish. I did my best and emptied the tank. And it was nice to chat with so many old friends and meet new people. Turned out the race organizer is from Bea's home town. It's a small world!

P5 overall. Last year I was P8 in the first ITT of the season, so there is an improvement. Of course the young Qatari guns were faster. But it was a great day.

Lusail ITT Race. P1 in TT Masters 🥇. P5 overall. The race was hot and humid but a lot of fun, too. Many old and new friends.
