Captain's Log:

Very cold (5c/41f) for Jerusalem and wet. Temperatures dropping.

Within ten minutes into the ride I hit heavy fog, literally in the middle of the city. Turn on my strobe lights.

Motorists are nervous as there's zero visibility and some just pull aside and put on their indicators while honking repeatedly to notify of their presence.

I must ride bright and fast, constantly visible and faster than the traffic.

I can't race as fast downhill as I'd like to as it's wet and can hardly see, time to race up the hills as fast as possible to make up for the lost average speed.

My hands are freezing but I hate gloves, I need to feel the bike with my skin, I hold off as long as I can and then eventually I feel an oncoming nausea due to my cold hands and give in.

Climbing through the fog I'm ambushed by two stray dogs that jump out of the bushes, I can't stop as it will jeopardize my traction so I growl as loud as I can and one of the dogs rolls over itself bouncing across the sidewalk. The other one is a bit more aggressive but can't catch up with me. 

'I'll show you who's boss when I'm not racing for a KOM.' I tell him.

A motorist sees the whole thing and slows down as if trying to figure out if he can assist but it's over before he even reaches me. 

At the end of the night I see a beautiful jackal and whistle at it and instead of running away it comes closer to me. 

80 PSI appears to be the key to top performance in the rain. I'm pleased, I've been struggling with finding the right balance.

Technical: 1. Cadence magnet flew off during ride. Cadence stopped tracking as a result. 2. One light wasn't fully charged and failed. Good I always have a backup.
