Thanks to everyone who cheered on the course!  Special shout outs to Jola Thorburn Ⓥ 🌱 for driving over with me and having someone to chat with pre-race as we tried to figure out parking.  You made the whole start experience so much better!  To Vimal Kumarasamy who ran with me from mile 13 to 20.  Thanks for clearing the way through some of the half marathoners and BIG TIME KUDOS for going back and picking up the gel I dropped at mile 14.  That was EPIC!  To Zach Fung for the the few moments we had together around mile 20.  So nice to get an escape if only for a minute from the rigors of concentrating on the race.  And to John Swenson for making a surprise visit from Bend Oregon to cheer me on at mile 21 and the finish, and all the great photos you took!

Course was tougher than I feared, but I'm super happy with the result.  I started out really conservative with a few 6:40 ish miles.  I actually didn't feel great and thought I might just hold that for the entire race, but loosened up and the pace started to drop without feeling like I was putting in more effort.  Lots of dark roads the first 90 minutes, Sharp steep hills.  Running on trails!  At mile 24(?) I had to run up a flight of stairs!?!  In the end great race and great day.  Thanks to everyone else who cheered and offered support along the way!
