Wind SW 20-40mph. Very little rain, no ice or snow - not on the road at least - some sunshine, and an awful lot of wind. 
Checking out the excellent resurfacing up Deepdale - pot hole free for a year or two now :-) 
First ride with a waxed chain, and it seems to have been an entirely successful experiment.
