Fast on the way south.  Though I lost contact with the lead bunch somewhere in Sunset Beach.  Really, I did not lose contact riders some 100 yards in front of me did and really no one made much effort to chase, at least where I was.  I tried to chase but could not close the gap.  I did manage to grab some top 10 cups in some segments from Bolsa south to PTF.  Caught a light at Superior and then I was done as all hope was lost to try to catch.  I didn't try to push too hard after that, knowing what awaited me on the return trip.  I decided to turn around at Newport Coast knowing the headwinds were pretty strong and hoping I could get to PTF before the club left there.  Got lucky and caught the club at PTF which was a welcome relief.  Still it was a tough ride home.
