I took the day off work to tackle this Permanent.  

Conditions were great.  There was nice weather and quiet roads.  Water is everywhere, but Spring has not reached the mountains, yet.  The foothills were lush green.

This was my first time up the backside of Mt. Hamilton. The route featured three of the 50 Epic Climbs of the SF Bay Area .

Road report:  Mt. Hamilton Road is open even though the CalTrans and Google maps indicate full closure.  It's not accurate.  There is a single lane section with stop signs at both ends, which is easy to navigate.

I met up with a fellow Randonneur on the way back.  He went down Mines Road and sent me a picture, that I've added.  It's passable, but doesn't really look set for prime time.
