Late Afternoon Ride:  Paramount (Home Depot) to the South End of the L.A. River Trail (Long Beach)

This was my first major bike ride since my hip replacement surgery in October 2022.  I was slooow, BUT I finished! The Tri-City Cycling Chicks signed up as a team.  There were three rest stops for the 40-milers. I didn't stop at the second one at the top of a long climb.  I was so slow that I didn't want the event organizers to shut down on me.  Stopped at the third rest stop for a few minutes to eat the bananas I got from the first rest stop at Griffith Park.  At that point, we were about 10 miles from the finish, so I didn't linger. ** Saw my MTLA cycling sister,  Maureen Ed. ** All cyclists received a nice plastic see-through goodie bag and a nice t-shirt.  **  I don't like beer, but today I wanted to take a sip or two since my registration fee included a free beer.  Much to my surprise, I finally tasted a beer that I liked!! The flavor is called LA Blond, a product of Angel City Brewery.
