Waiting game

Pretty epic wildlife overnight. Spooked a huge porcupine off the trail. Got really close to a lynx by Marion. Saw a bear in the swamp between Olive and Moosehead - it stood on its rear legs to check me out. We looked at each other, sized each other up, and I was clearly the alpha as he took off in the other direction. Lots of fish spawning in shallow brooks and bald eagles making a buffet out of it.

Ticks are biblical right now. So glad the mosquitoes and flies aren’t out yet.

It turned into a tough afternoon when I got dehydrated but was able to turn it around and sort myself out. Managed to finish a little over 2 hours faster than my time from last year.
