Such a GREAT DAY! Lowered the FKT for the spring classics from 16:12 down to 13:17 and were able to make it work w/o stashing, ropes, or climbing shoes! We thought it’d be possible with good beta, no mistakes, and a whole bunch of psych. So so stoked that we were able to put the pieces together for such a rad day. Feeling extremely lucky & grateful to have snuck in this big ol backyard linkup between the seemingly endless rain!

By “GREAT DAY”, what I really mean is that we were psyched on accomplishing a big goal that took some serious scouting & planning. In reality, we felt pretty terrible for a good portion of the time. Started out a bit too fast, the sun was HOT, and I probably didn’t eat enough food. But hey, this entire linkup was supposed to be tough & I think we got what we asked for. The stats for this linkup don’t really do it justice IMO — some of the routes are VERY thin, exposed, and technical and the route finding & shortcuts took some practice & planning! Planning & getting after it with Jack Neus is a dangerous game… he’ll hold you to your ideas until they become a reality, whether or not the fitness is there at the time. 

Highs: the 🔥 sandwiches we brought, Yung Gravy & Nicki Minaj, Jack’s epic redpoint burn on Tomato Rock, soaking our feet in the creeks along the way, and the goddamn green & beautiful flatirons in general. What a special place.

Lows: feeling like garbage for probably 5hrs, not bringing more sandwiches, and choosing to bring RX bars (the thought of them makes me feel sick now)
