This was tough but so much fun! I was feeling strong and hitting well under goal pace until North Ridge at mile 15, where I got lost and went over half a mile out of my way. Probably wasted 10 minutes looking for the trail and backtracking. After that I wasn’t sure the FKT (4:27) was still in reach. I am a terrible descender on technical trails, but when I saw I was at 4:02 at the summit with just the Ledges Trail descent left, I booked it and managed to stay on my feet! So happy, this is the first “race” in almost 4 months where I’ve felt like myself :)

Huge thanks to Leslie O'Dell for setting a really tough FKT to beat! I’d encourage all New England Mountain runners to try this one out.
