Gran Canaria 🇮🇨 #9 - Making the most of a rainy day

What a day! I wanted to ride Giau at the limit, which I did. I improved my time by 4 minutes compared to last year when I already had quite a bit of km ridden.

At the top, I was treated by the Italians, first, they poured me Proseco and then a beer. 😅 That totally blew my legs away. But it was worth it. 🤣

After that, I went to Giau, because I was there unnecessarily early. The caravan was a disappointment, not giving anything away. 🥲 I was also expecting a bit more people, but most were on Tre Cime. 

The guys in the breakaway and the peloton were riding like they were on a flat while climbing a 10% gradient. I don't get it. 🤣 I also met two guys from Kroměříž - it's a small world. 😀

On the downhill from Giau, I stopped at an Italian corner to watch the stage finish. But then, I was freezing in the descent. To warm up, I did a bit of effort - my legs are feeling pretty good. 👌
