Afternoon Ride

Whelp, I finally met my match. Weather was slightly better than the 400 km to Portland, in that it was far less windy and warmer, but it rained all day and got even heavier at night.

Had to get off and walk a few times going up the Kanc, but overall was content making it to the overnight control just before 1:30 am. Sleeped for 4 hours plus an amazing shower and lasagna. 

But after biking another 2 hours into the 200 km coming home, and my knees in lots of pain, like last year but this time affecting both of them, and with my odds of finishing within 40 hours slowly becoming less and less likely, I threw in the towel. It started to rain right after I notified the organizer I was finding a ride home haha.

It was a valiant effort, but looks like PBP will have to be a different year. At least the pepperoni pizza in Lincoln NH was amazing
