Wasn’t planning on racing this, was going to party pace, but gave it a shot, had a stomach issue, didn’t drink or eat, bonked SUPER HARD and felt like I was going to die. Somehow pushed through the negative thoughts and the want to just stop, but I was determined to at least finish. So I pushed on, force feeding myself and making myself drink water that I didn’t feel like drinking. Started to feel better through the second half, but never fully came back whatsoever.

On the final descent, my chain fell off, I went to pedal w/o realizing, the cranks sucked the chain up then smoked my derailleur and the chain. I was able to use it by borrowing a chain tool and a quick link, looped it around a cog on the cassette and boom! the gravel bike is a single speed now!
