Good grief it was wet out there today!

I don't mind drizzle or light rain, but for the heavier stuff I usually plan my run to fit around the rain. As you can see from the forecast above, that wasn't an option! 

As I knew I was going to get soaked I figured I might as well dress correctly for it! I dug out the [Waterproof Jacket](https://peakd.com/hive-176853/@dannewton/8670641428-0376204789), which has a hood. I decided to wear the peaked cap as well which would keep the rain off my glasses, and the hood fitted quite nice over the top of that. I also ditched my usual shorts and found an old pair of running tights that I bought 10 years ago, and no longer really wear now.

The reason for the trousers was the fact that I'm still not fully running yet. Today I was aiming for a longer distance, and as I was spend 2 thirds of the time walking, there was a risk of cooling down too quickly. 

Suitably dressed, I headed out into the rain. The plan today was to do 10km worth of running and walking, which would be a useful increase to the 6km I covered over the last 2 runs. I estimated it would take me over an hour and a half which be would be a decent amount of time 'spent on feet'

>I wasn't running the whole thing of course, but the 90 minutes of continuous movement would be good as part of my injury recovery process

Once again I was on the bypass route, and while on the previous runs I turned around at the roundabout, for this run I carried on going forwards

I did run past this little underpass. It goes under the bypass

There is bits of naff graffiti, in this underpass. I don't mind good quality graffiti, some the artwork produced is amazing. Unfortunately some the 'pieces' here were not quite up to standard...

I followed the path along the bypass, which went under the bridge...

...and towards another roundabout. At the roundabout my watch told me I had travelled 5km, which was my cue to turn around and head back home.

It was still raining heavily, but I was reasonably comfortable due to the choice of clothes I had picked out... definitely got that right today! In fact I actually really enjoyed the session, that may be a reflection of how much I have missed running, and how eager I am to get back into running regularly.

I arrived home pretty much on target of just over 90 minutes, and the most important thing of course is I had no noticeable issues regarding the calf injury, which gives me hope that I'm finally on the mend.

I'm still only running for small sections, and walking in between. If this  

>Now it was time take off all the wet clothes, stuff my shoes with newspaper to help dry them out, and then have a nice warm shower :-)
