That’s number 8 and 9 this week 🙌🏻

Flesberg was new to me, but Heddal is by far my favorite, and also the largest of all of the stave churches, and have a magnificent location, majestically ruling the rather flat rural landscape.

Parked the car in Kongsberg and got a nice round in mostly sun except for a nice torrential rain down from Gransherad.

Two climbs of around 10k each, Blefjell had gravel and was extremely rough going down: steep a.f. and a bad mix of terrible tarmac, tarmac with gravel and sand, gravel, and lots of potholes and washboard surfaces 😬

In addition to the stave churches I swung by the open air museum in Heddal and the fantastic stone railway bridge “Hengselva steinhvelvbru”. I’ve driven past this hundreds of times, and have wanted to stop by bike soo many times. This is only the second time I pass it by bike, so now was the time. The road is closed and there are a lot of signs (and a very angry dog) that make you feel you’re trespassing, but I went all the way up to the plateau by the bridge anyway.
