Proper racing out there today! Fast & fun lap of 90% singletrack that was about as good as it gets. I haven’t raced here in 10+ years and it was way different and way more fun. 

A stump came out of nowhere early on lap 2 and I hit the eject button real hard and fast as I supermaned into the woods. Lluckily, nothing was broken and I was able to get back on quickly and smack my brake lever back into place as I was riding. I chased hard and bridged back to the leaders on the only long section of double track before the end of the lap. 

Tactically, I figured staying on Guerra and in front of Cole was my best bet. Guerra was so punchy and aggressive and Cole was like a smooth ninja on his home trails. 

I started to cramp on the start of lap 4 but did my best to keep pounding fluids, carbs, and even was dumping cold water on the legs - whatever it takes haha. 

On the last lap, we hit the short and second to last double track section Guerra was drilling it up the climb. I dangled off the back a few seconds and it grew to 5+ into the last section of singletrack. They messed around on the long finish stretch and I was coming in hot, but as I caught on Guerra jumped. I just kept on the gas as much as I could, but got a front row seat to the sprint up the finish rise (watch the video 😂). Congrats to those two on the good stuff today. That was the most fun I’ve had at a WORS race all year ✊
