Afternoon Ride

Bit of a grind on each end of the day. The first piece was a pretty gnarly hike connecting roads up via an ancient road, now trail. Lago del Garda was beautiful, but lots of cars. Under pressure to make it to the train station, o routes through valleys, also busy. A few nice bits of path, however. At the trains station, turns out the fast train requires bike bag after all, and it was a huge ordeal to sort it. Rode to a Decathlon, and a gent there went way above and beyond to try to source me a bag anywhere in Verona. Nope, so he gave me some boxes and tape so I could fashion an encasement at the station. What a gem of a guy! Rode 5k back with the flat boxes on bars, not for the feint of heart. Succeeded in cobbling the box together, win! Had to make it work, last train, and no local trains with hooks for bikes going to Florence tonight.
