Morning Ride

Snapped a master link while heading to the start line so had to use my extra one before the race even started. Front brake fluid leaked out due to me replacing a shifter battery Wednesday and not knowing where to replace it and undid the wrong bolt to my brake fluid reservoir. Closest bike shop couldn’t fix it by the race so went into this race without a working front brake which came into play around mile 57 when I couldn’t stop in time on a downhill leading onto a bridge so I had to go straight into a rocky river that flatted both tires. Since I didn’t top up my sealant before the race they wouldn’t seal the holes and had to put tubes in. Flatted both my tubes after a few miles,  used every CO2, and my hand pumps o-ring would undo once the tires hit 10’ish psi. Got tubes from some riders but it meant very little unfortunately since I would flat after a mile or 2. Was definitely a learning experience.
