Another greasy one today! Less rain fell than predicted but it was still super slick. Made it through the race with some good skills and a bit of luck! 
Got a pretty bad start, off the line in 3rd but did some work on the first climb right off the start and made my way to the front before the descent. Made it half way down until my front wheel washed out over the top of a super muddy berm and I slid like a slip and slide down the berm while my bike went over the top into the woods. Got passed by one person before I got my bike got going. Realized my glasses fell off and brake lever was slightly tweaked but raced on regardless. Caught and passed the person in first and put the hammer down on the double track to get a gap. Played it safe in all the tech and kept myself upright. On lap 3, I decided that it was worth stopping if I could see my glasses as I was getting sand in my eyes. Saw them and grabbed them on lap 3 to finish out the race. Bike is all good, no scratches, and I am perfectly fine! Just a little muddy 😂
