Major Taylor 1899 (MT1899)

This group includes many of the Major Taylor Cycling Clubs and Friends of Major Taylor from around the world who enjoy the sport of cycling. The Major Taylor clubs are named after Marshall Walter "Major" Taylor, an American cyclist who won the world 1 mile track cycling championship in 1899. In one 6 week period in 1899, Taylor established seven world records. His standing start mile of 1:41, stood for 28 years. When riding with the group please use the hashtag #MT1899.
