This mountain bike route takes you through the five first sections of the Sörmlandsleden hiking trail as it dwindles south out from Stockholm. The trail starts in Björkhagen and is very easy to follow with orange signs and markings showing the way. Beware, the terrain can be technically very challenging at times with lots of roots and rocks that demand your full attention. At 15km you’ll reach Alby Friluftsgård, where you can stop for a “Fika” (swedish coffee break) and refill your water. Once back on the trail you’ll soon enter Tyresta nature reserve and national park. These ancient woods are protected, so stay on the trails. If the weather is hot, a quick swim in the Årsjön lake is a must. At the end of the ride just hop on the local train in Haninge Centrum and you’ll be back in the city in 20 minutes.
