Running has been a bit hit and miss recently, not helped with picking up a little injury niggle (self-diagnosed as a mild groin strain). Cut down on the running mileage to rest/recover, and tried harder to incorporate more stretching/Hip Mobility work.

Touch wood, it all feels a little better, so its time to gradually pick up the running again. The forecast today was for thundery showers in the afternoon, so I hoped to head out in the morning (but ended staying to long in bed oops!

I was about to head out at 12:00 but then the rain storm appeared so I had lunch instead.

At 4pm there were lots of black clouds around, but the sun was shining, I took my chances and headed out. The aim initially was to just do yet another 10km plod along the bypass and back, but as I ran down the hill I decided to amend the route and head the long way back via Washingborough and Branston for a relatively gentle 10 miles in total

The big black clouds were ever-present, but I managed to avoid the run until the final 10 minutes, but it wasn't too bad.

This run takes me to just over 47km for the week, so with a little (5-6km) run out tomorrow that should bring my weekly total to over 50km, which will do. Not close to where I was 4 months ago at average 70-80km, but getting there!

Tomorrow will also include visiting my Dad for Fathers Day. He's not overly fussed in celebrating it, but its an opportunity to go spend some with him.

*And of course I've already mentioned the weeks holiday... so tomorrow me and my partner will start planning the days out for the week... hopefully there will be plenty of places to walk (and take pictures) and fingers crossed we can avoid the rain, as it appears to be forecast to be more of the same sunny intervals and thundery showers all week.*
