Finally dialed in the Bad Boy as a Gravel Bike. Found a shorter stem with higher angle. Now the bars are where they feel natural and comfortable. 
Got out in the heat of the day and rode through LAH to FHP.  Up to the panoramic view then down into the valley and back up the one way road to Arastradero Reserve entrance. 
The new bar position made descending feel more stable. 
Had to climb back up to the top of Arastradero. Didn't have too much time to explore so I headed through the park and home.
