(Barefoot RSD 1047) Lago Vista / Hill Country Running (I enjoyed this run: deer, country roads, little traffic, courteous pick-up truck drivers, beautiful scenery!)

It was a good day for a run!

Yes, today was a beautiful day to run in your hood. I am just so out of hill practice, since I've been concentrating on speed work instead of hill work!

Great job! It's funny how specific training can be. I found out right quick this weekend with all of the bridges in Florida just how flat my usual training is. I guess that was good, since I'm doing the bridge race in about a month!

Great work and it looks like it was a beautiful run. Why do hill workouts translate to increased speed but speed workout does not help with hills? Go figure.

Very nice run Teresa!! Sounds and looks like a very nice area to run in. Great pics!!That street sign is too funny! Definitely a message about what lies ahead. 👍👍🤗

Geri L and Stephanie Harvey, I was thinking the same things during my run yesterday, about the cons of specific training and the irony that speed work on a track doesn’t translate into strength on hills as it works the other way around. And I have a super hilly half-marathon in less than a month - we’ll see what happens during that race🙄

Thank you, Appalachian Runner. That area just North of Austin is very beautiful, although not quite Pennsylvania-in-autumn beautiful.
