There are still nice selfless people out there! They are rare, but they do exist! 

What a day! Bike defect. Yesterday I had to fix multiple issues. A flat tire due to a dent in my rear wheel. Had to put a tube in, but before that I had to get out a worn out thru axle! That was a hassle! In the end I had to use pipe pliers to get it out. So far so good. Now I could repair the wheel and put the tube in. But the worst was still to come…

The right bottom bracket bearing was shattered and I had forgotten the bearing removal tool 🙈
So usually you can use a screwdriver and a hammer. I had the 🪛 , but no 🔨, so I took a 🪨 instead. And what should I say? It worked, but made it worse, because the outer ring of the bearing got stuck in the bb shell and I had no tool or idea how to get that out! Long story short I put the crank back in with just the drive side bearing and seal ring on the other side and tried to roll 11k down to Detmold, where there were supposed to be the next bicycle stores. The good thing the route is mostly downhill, the bad thing I shouldn’t pedal with the left leg due to no bearing 😅
So what happened? 5k into the ride I lost the preload security bolt and suddenly the left crank arm just hung on my left shoe. I stopped reattached the arm without preload and rolled carefully into Detmold City. The bike store I had contacted was still open for 20minutes. All other store were already closed. They were kind enough to still put the bike on the stand and tried different things, but in vain, because they didn’t have the tool to remove the bottom bracket. So I left the store clueless like before, but now knowing that there was no one left who could help me. So I was already thinking about driving back to Lich where my Scott was waiting. 
Suddenly I go a call from an unknown number (it was Ishwara = god). I accepted and asked who it was. A guy from another bike store that was supposed to be closed since over an hour ago! I told him about my hopeless situation and he asked me to drop by, because he might be able to help. The shop was 6min from my location. 
When I arrived there a nice bearded dude was there listening to loud pleasant beats. He told me that he had been busy all day with clientele and still had to do some office stuff, so why not help me fixing my bike in the meantime…what a legend! We took the bike to the workshop and started taking the crank apart and tried a couple of things to get the ring out. Unfortunately unsuccessful. So we had to remove the whole bb. But he didn’t have the right removal tool either. But this guy wasn’t ready to give up. We used some heavy pliers to unscrew the thread fit bb and it worked. We go both sides out. Then we used a bearing extractor and a screw driver and a hammer to get the job done. What a legend this man was! And how much did he want for this? Just some tip money! What? 😱Never had such a sympathetic, motivated and kind experience in a bike shop! Stegelmann E-bike store in Detmold is just a the place to go! Can’t recommend him enough! This guy was Ishwara in a hopeless situation for me!
